Privacy & saved plans
Updated October 4, 2026
You can explore without saving personal information to an app account. Sign in with ChatGPT when you want to save plans and return to them later. You can print a plan or delete its saved record from the app.
Keep passwords, account numbers, social insurance numbers, and private document copies outside this app. A few general planning notes are enough.
Exploring without signing in
Your selected answers, checklists, and notes stay in the open page. The app does not create a saved plan record for a guest. Refreshing or closing the page normally clears this unsaved work, so print a copy or sign in if you want to keep it.
If you choose to sign in after starting a plan, the app temporarily places a draft in this browser’s session storage to carry your work through sign-in. The draft includes your completed plans and any current question flow. It is valid for up to one hour and is checked and cleared when the app next reads an expired draft. Drafts are cleared after successful transfer or when you choose to keep an existing saved plan. Browser session restoration can affect how long browser-held data remains on a device.
What is saved when you sign in
Completed plans and subsequent edits save automatically to your account. Each saved chapter includes:
- Your selected pathway and question answers.
- Your reflection notes and completed checklist items.
- Your chosen check-in date and check-in notes.
- A saved-record timestamp and version, used to manage updates.
Sign-in is provided through ChatGPT. The app receives a site-specific user identifier and, when supplied, your email address. It uses the identifier to associate saved plans with your account and displays the email to identify your signed-in account. The app does not receive your ChatGPT password.
Your words are used to provide and save your planning experience. Guidance is assembled from written pathways; this app does not send your answers or reflections to an AI model.
Who can access saved information
Saved plans are stored in the app’s hosted database. The app separates records by signed-in user, so another visitor cannot retrieve your plans through the app. The Story We’re In, as the site operator, can access saved records when operating, maintaining, or supporting the service. Hosting and sign-in providers process information needed to run their services.
Privacy on a shared device also depends on who can access your browser and signed-in session. Avoid leaving personal notes open where others can see them.
How to delete a saved plan
- Sign in to the account that saved the plan.
- On the home screen, find Your chapters and open the plan.
- Find Delete this plan beneath the check-in section.
- Confirm Delete plan. The app removes the chapter’s saved answers, reflections, checklist progress, and check-in details from its active database.
Repeat these steps for each chapter you want to remove. Deleting a plan does not delete your ChatGPT account, Etsy purchases, printed copies, or files you have saved elsewhere. It also does not control any operational logs or backups retained by service providers under their own policies.
There is no scheduled automatic deletion of saved plan records in this app. They remain until deleted through the app or removed as part of operating the service. If you cannot access a plan or need help with removal, email us. We may need to verify that the records belong to you.
External links and contact emails
Workbook links take you to Etsy; resource links take you to other websites. Those services handle visits and purchases under their own policies. This app does not process payment-card details or verify Etsy purchases.
The app adds no advertising trackers or usage-analytics tools. Hosting and sign-in services may process technical information such as network requests and authentication session data. If you email us, your message and email address are handled through our email service and used to respond to your enquiry.
